Carbon offsets and the Caskets Direct sustainable coffin.
Caskets Direct offset the carbon emissions of our products with an accredited renewable energy project through Climate Positive. We proudly buy carbon credits from Climate Positive for each coffin or casket purchased by our customers. These carbon credits offset both the manufacture and the transportation of our products.
For dedicated environmentalists we also offer the Caskets Direct Sustainable Coffin, a 100% sustainably grown Australian plantation pine timber casket that uses environmentally sound adhesives and finishes.

Q- Why is this coffin similar in price to our traditional coffins?
A- The Sustainable Coffin is made with Australian grown plantation timbers and is lovingly handcrafted one piece at a time by a local crafts person in Richmond, Victoria. It has not been made on a production line of hundreds of units and as a result has a price tag that reflects the time involved in creating a one off piece of work.
We believe that a truly sustainable product must be made locally from local materials. The production of our sustainable coffin involves more than plantation pine and biodegradable elements, it begins with the creation and sourcing of materials to be used in the manufacturing process and ends with the delivery of the product to the end-user. Sustainability is a holistic process and we are proud to offer a truly sustainable coffin to our customers.
